Energetic, Informative, Engaging, Creative and Talented are all words used to describe Randi’s vibe! And her laugh is infectious!

Randi Knight gets you home stress free on the afternoon ride as the traffic and news contributor for The Michael Baisden Show on Soul 106.3 and keeps Soul 106.3 listeners connected to the latest in entertainment with Randi’s Reelz & Entertainment Bites “Juicy to the Core!” (Randiknight.net). From 2007-2009, Randi was the ‘midday mama’ for Soul 106.3 from 10am to 2pm. Her classy, entertaining and charming style garnered interviews in ‘Randi’s Entertainment Lounge’ with Academy Award winners Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson, and artists such as Robin Thicke, Tank, Mary J. Blige, Avant and lifestyle icons like Dr. Ian Smith, Michelle McKinney Hammond.

From 2002 to 2005, she was the vivacious and energetic part-time V103 (WVAZ-FM Chicago) on air/van personality and Assistant Promotions & Marketing Director. As one of V103’s popular & results driven van personalities, she garnered appearances from both local and national clients. Highly requested with Account Executives, she met listeners and showcased clients’ products and services, such as nationally known companies, Home Depot, Baskin Robbins, Fashion Fair Cosmetics @ Carson Pirie Scott, A.J. Wright, Famous Footwear, Jewel Food Stores and Thomas Hyandai. In addition, Randi has worked with some of the most entertaining celebrities and interesting newsmakers of our time: Fantasia, Brian McKnight, Lionel Richie, Queen Latifah, Brandy, Morgan Freeman, Renee Zellweger, Nancy O’Dell, and the late Ozzie Davis, singer Aaliyah and Johnnie Cochran to name a few.

Randi began her career in broadcasting at Kennedy-King College and landed on the air at Chicago’s premier college radio station, WKKC 89.3 FM. After a successful internship at WGCI, Randi, got her first official radio gig at WLS-TalkRadio 890 as a board op and producer, simultaneously working at the news desk for ABC’s Chicago property, Channel 7. Feeling radio is where her talent could soar, she accepted a position as a producer at WGCI’s DustyRadio 1390. A few years later she went on to produce WGCI’s #1 morning music show—The Howard McGee Morning Show. As the producer and writer for the show’s content, Randi also filled in for the co-host and news director. Impressed with her quick wit, creativity and ability to connect personally with her listeners, the boss gave her an opportunity to host the “Randi Knight” show on the weekends. After a short stint with WNUA’s promotions department, Randi joined the V103 Afternoon Show w/ Tony Richards as the entertainment & traffic “belle” and co-host fill-in. So loved by listeners that after 5 years they still mention hearing about the birth of Randi’s daughter the day she was born because the Afternoon Crew interviewed Randi live while at Northwestern Hospital hours after she delivered to share Randi’s joyful day with Chicago listeners. She began filling-in for other day parts such as mid-days and weekends. In January 2002, Randi began hosting The Saturday Night Dusty Stepper’s Set and continued fill-in duties while adding Assistant Promotions & Marketing Director to her repertoire. An active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Randi also believes in giving back, so in 2000 when she was asked to lend her radio experience to teach Radio 101 to high school juniors and seniors, she quickly seized the opportunity to share her knowledge with students who would earn college credit toward their area of interest in a program called College Excel at Kennedy King Jr. College.

In addition, she is active with many community organizations such St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and at her church Vernon Park Church of God. She also works as a voice over artist for Walsh Media among others, with clients such as Gibson’s Restaurant, Com Ed, and Chicago Discount Ave. store. Randi believes that music is the soundtrack of our lives and along with her commitment, integrity and love for life, enjoys sharing that philosophy of music, life and love with her listeners!!
